Livia, Silas and Aliya :)

The kids decided to play nicely today :) for a little while......rolling each other up in their very soft blankies, and dragging each other around like grubs in cocoons. Funny little monkeys they are!

This is probably what I will be waking up to in the morning....

Well after a big day of pottering around doing chores I don't usually get to, I ambitiously decided to do a big cook up with Silverside and lots of veggies, with big lashings of white sauce with fresh parsley from the garden.

But being tired from being on the go all day, I didn't clean up as I cooked (which I usually do to make clean up easy) and as u can see I have a mission ahead of me...

I think I kinda enjoyed making this mess as I was going along, a bit of me was saying Na Na Na!! The ultimate rebellion, making a mess that I'll have to clean up any-ways! lol!!

But now that I've seen my picture I've decided to at least fill the dishwasher and leave the pots to do in the morning.... or maybe Mike will get up before me and get a start on them :)

Kaydence

Just had to share this pic of Kaydence :) I have a samsung camera with a crazy flash that goes of 3 times.....

As u can see Kadee is not a fan of the flash, pretty cute pic though! lol!!

Wish I could sleep as soundlessly as Bruno does!!

Banana Cake

This is what happens to Banana Cake when ur 3 yr old wakes up first in the morning and realises there is cake hiding under a teacloth on the bench. Everyone in the family loves Banana Cake, even the ones who don't like bananas!!

Lets just say Silas would love to have 'cakie' for breakie every morning!! ;)

# - 15 Learn to ride a horse

Well, yesterday I rode a horse :) My first ride eva!! My niece, Tamika, turned 14 today and she had her party out at a Em's place again.

Last year the kids all got their first ride on a horse (I should explain Em is a friend of the family and she has 7 beautiful horses). I was pregnant with Kadee so was unable to ride, but this year I was jumping with excitement at the thought of riding a horse! It took all my mature mummy effort not to shove the kids aside and say 'Me first!' lol!!

I got to ride a beautiful horse named Possum, she's 18 yrs old and will be having her 1st baby in 5 mths :) Very placid and I even got to ride her without being lead, I totally understand why people have a passion for these animals.

Em mentioned she will be doing private lessons soon, so hopefully they will be affordable, cause the girls and I are busting to ride again soon!! Its such a effort to get the horses in from the paddocks and saddled up, so I would feel bad about rocking up and expecting to ride the horses without offering something in return.

I'll have to remember to take my camera next time :)

Our very first Rodeo :)

We went to our first rodeo last week (Mike stayed home with the little kids - he has been to a few rodeo's and is not really that into them)and we had a blast!! :) SO exciting watching the bulls and broncos being ridden. The bulls had some fantastic names which got the kids cacking themselves - Black Acid and Gravel Rash were 2 that I can recall :)

There was a couple of 'bull fighting clowns' which put on a comedy act for the crowd while the bulls and cowboys were setting up between sets. They would set up a dummy in the centre of the ring and after the cowboy was thrown from the bull, the bulls would line up this dummy and then, BAM! throw it up into the air!! Jaidon thought it was a real person at first and got quite a shock, but after he saw it was in a million pieces he started to laugh himself silly! The crowd would whoop and cheer once the bull started to eye off the dummy and paw the ground.

I've heard some say that Rodeos are a cruel sport and that the animals are being mistreated by riding them, but from what I observed, the bulls seem to really enjoy the excitement. Maybe behind the scenes are a different matter?? I wouldn't know.

But I can tell u that a Rodeo gets a big thumbs up from me as a fun family nite out :) The kids and I are mad keen to go to another one :)

Below are the best of the photos I took, gees I think I really really need to get a DSLR camera!!! Might have to go water the money tree :)

Kaydence is 6 mths old already!!

Where has the time gone! As Kadee is my 5th baby I have been making a conscious effort to really savour the days, hours, minutes and seconds with my precious new addition to our family.

We thought long and hard on whether to add another person to our family and I can say with 100% certainty that we couldn't imagine our lives without her!

Lots of luv to my baby girl! I know it won't be long til she is 1!!!

Quote

I came across a quote from Rose Kennedy today, luv it luv it luv it!!

I looked on child rearing not only as a work of love and duty but as a profession that was fully as interesting and challenging as any honourable profession in the world and one that demanded the best that I could bring to it.

Camping at Last

I luv to camp :) I was raised by parents that luved to go camping. Every school holidays the parents used to get the gear together and off we would go in the Ute camping at Cooner at Bundaberg. No power, running water or toilets. And we luved it!!!! Sure there was sand in every orifice imagined and the solar shower was a 20 sec affair, but running feral at the beach for a week was the best thing eva!!

Now days as a mother I really want to start up the tradition of camping with the kiddies. We don't live in Bundaberg any more so finding a camping site that compares to Cooner has been impossible, and with 6 kids, I'm not as adventurous as my parents were. I like to have running water for the little kids and digging a dunny for the 8 of us, well it would have to be a mile deep!!

SO tomorrow we will be camping at Lake Dyer, out past Ipswich. Mikes parents have been there quiet a bit and rave about how awesum the facilities are and how cheap :) Its only $22 for the first nite and then the next 2 nites are free. We will be going only for 2 nites though just to check things out. Now for a large family like ours, I am really excited about the cost :) The last time we went camping we went to Tin Can Bay at the local caravan park and its cost us nearly $100 each nite as they charges for extra kids.

So I must be really organised, right?? Or I wouldn't be here wasting away my time on the computer?? WRONG!! I'm so not organised or even have all the bags packed! I still have to run down to the shops in the morning and get the food we need for the trip away!!

I guess this SAHM really needs some excitement in her life hey! The last minute rush to get things organised really gets me in holiday mode! lol!! Never mind, there is no rush to get on the road but I hope we will get out the door by midday!! FINGERS CROSSED!!

Silas and Kaydence

I just couldn't resist sharing this photo of my youngest children Silas and Kaydence. Now that Kadee's personality is coming out Silas is starting to 'play' with his little sister.

Finished Easter Treats

Easter Treats :)

Happy Easter!!

its currently 12.30am and I am just finishing up creating Easter treats for the kids. This year I decided to make a range of treats to make into baskets instead of spending $100 plus on chocolate eggs. Still not finished but the kids can help me make them up in the morning :)

I did put a few eggs out on their beds cause Ali and Si Si still believe in the bunny. I explained that the Easter bunny was on a budget this year though so he won't be bringing as many eggs so that's why we were going to create our own, and of course it will be fun doing it together as a family.

Now hopefully Kadee will go to sleep, and not wake up a billion times tonight! or this furry little Easter mummy will be cranky in the morning!

SO while not yet 'perfect' my blog is much much nicer then what it was and makes me want to read ova my posts 'just cause its sooooo pretty' :)

Easter Parade for Aliya

Easter is nearly upon us :) and how can I tell?? Easter Bonnet Parade was on, and we went along to cheer for Aliya.

And big brother Jaidon has also arrived for the holidays :) (He is my only step-child and comes to stay with us during the holidays, we wish he lived closer so he could spend more time with the family though)

It always makes me so joyful to see all the junior kids get excited about Easter and sing all their songs. Our school really makes a effort to make special events really fun for the kids :)

Can't wait to collect our easter moulds on saturday to start creating our yummy easter treats!
