6 week FITNESS CHALLENGE :)

So because I'm not busy enough - jokes - I've decided to sign up with a personal trainer who does fitness classes and also sign up with his 6 wk fitness challenge!!

I don't see myself as a fat person, sure things don't fit like they should and those size 12's haven't been fitting, well, since 3 babies ago, but I'm still a really active person :) Heck I would even call myself sporty :)

But that all 'I'll look as good as I want cause I've had 7 kids" attitude came to a screeching halt when I was asked to be a bridesmaid for my friends wedding and we took pics to compare dresses. Well what an eyeopener that was!!

BUT the real shocker was when we were asked to send a before photo to the trainer. OMG!(I'm not brave enough to share yet).

Yeah, totally understand why before photos get taken. I really enjoyed living in my bubble where I didn't mind how I looked as I had never had time to sit down and examine fatty bits that are generally covered! No wonder I could mindlessly eat and eat when I don't see the damage it causes my body!! And that's just what I can see on the outside!

So today I weighed in and did the fitness test...........

STATS:
Weight: 76.3kg
Waist: 109cm
Squats: 38
Push Ups:15

Every week I follow the meal plan, go to at least 3 training sessions and loose some weight :) And that's how its done :)

EAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSYYYYYYYY AAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSS!

I really really hate the fact that I let myself get like this and that I have to spend sooooo much of my time sorting myself out! But once I do I'll be a much better everything :) I'm looking forward to having the energy I should have for my age.

And while this dinner wasn't technically in my meal plan it was still a winner-winner-chicken-dinner :)

The flu is going around.....bring on the homemade vegetable soup!

I threw on the slow cooker last night while I was waiting for Braith to go to sleep :)

I just chopped up some veggies that I have on hand - I had a soup start pack that I picked up 1/2 price, which contained carrots, turnip, swed, celery, pumpkin, potato, which I roughly chopped then slow cooked over night. I used the hand blender to puree the veggies, then added some sweated onions, capsicum, garlic and ginger. Salt to taste and top with your favourite fresh herbs!

Easy peasy!!

Slim Down Sunday

So I am in the process of loosing weight. You know all that baby fat I've collected over the years. Up and down, using pregnancy as my excuse to keep a little pudding around the middle. Excuses like, why bother getting fit if I'm just going to get pregnant and chunky again.

But I'm finding that I am a much more energised Mumma when I weigh closer to my healthy weight range. So to keep me on track I'm linking up with a bunch of other bloggers who wanna get fit too! I found this link up over at The Fruit of her Hands

Being accountable and being 'present' with my weight loss really helps me, especially when the days rush on by!! And with it being a new month, I'm starting fresh :)

Here are my stats :)

BMI 27.2

Height - 163cms
Weight - 72.4kgs
Waist 110cm
Bust 94cm (totally all back fat not rack lol)
Left Thigh 56cm
Right Thigh 58cm
Left Calf 37cm
Right Calf 37cm
Left Arm 31cm
Right Arm 29m

Goals?? To enter the healthy BMI weight range 23.7 which is about 63kgs, I can wear a size 12/10 comfortably, energy levels are high and I'm generally a Happy Mumma.

How?? To stay on track with my eating plan, provided by my ultra health and fitness friend, who we shall call Fitness Barbie :)

And to exercise everyday this month, allowing for 1 day of rest :) I guess as I get further into my challenge, I'll be able to get real with what is working and how I'll be achieving my goals and what is really preventing me from achieving them :)

Fat vs Thin

http://shareitfitness.wordpress.com/2010/05/14/250lbs-woman-vs-120lbs-woman/

Great illustration of why people need to keep their body weights down, not just for the outside but the inside as well.

Fat runs in my family. My Mum, Dad, well are 'big boned'. As a teen I was athletic and very trim, played soccer, rugby union, competed in school sports, karate and rowing were my favourites. Thin was easy.

I still love sports but 6 babies later my body is neither athletic nor trim. Now fat is easy. Easier to shove whatever into my mouth and chores seem to takeover my 'exercise' time. But I'm lucky, lucky that I have a family that enjoy healthy eating, and doesn't ask for fatty take out. Lucky I have friends that are fitness minded and motivate me to become a fitter, healthier version of myself.

Chinese Herbs

The herbs I was prescribed to bring me up to optimal health :) Yummy! They are boiled down in pots with water to reveal a sludge that should be consumed warm before eating :) Usually 12 days are required. Lets just say I have a really awesum gag reflex these days :)

#1 - Exercising More

Well after not exercising for about a month due to having the flu, then everyone else having the flu, then hurting my right foot, I got stuck back into my jogging today.

It was great! My fitness level hasn't dropped to much and I maintained a steady jog/fast walk for 45mins! I had to drag the dogs along a bit, but hey the extra weight adds to calorie burning right? lol!!

Then through out the day, my foot starts to hurt, and now its fully throbbing and causing heaps of pain. Its starting in the bottom of my foot near the top and shooting out to the side in my arch of the foot. Awful! and the worst its ever been!

No fair!! I'm hopping it will settle down and be ok for tomorrow, I'm even limping!

I need to lose at least 10 kgs by the wedding in October! Fingers crossed it won't cause too much down time!
