I've been wanting to catch up with my blogging and thought it would be a great start by taking a snapshot of our home schooling days :) The good and the bad lol!
Term 1 was a bit wishy washy, and when so busy with, well everything to do with life, its often a bit tricky for me to really to say Ahha! we achieved amazing things ;)
We had an early start for everyone for Day 1 of Term 2 :)
Up at 5.30am so that we are able to go to a fellow home schooling friends breakfast birthday, dropping the babies off to their daycare mum, then off to the CSIRO for our science workshops. This was a bit of a shock to my older kids who generally enjoy a generous sleep in each morning sometimes only climbing out of bed at nearly 9am after numerous wake up calls from me hehehe.
Silas participated in Living Things, where he examined and defined what was living or non living things, and did several experiments with a few other boys he had met on our home schooling travels.
Aliya participated in A Biological World, where she examined various living things under microscopes :) Aliya is very independent so she did this workshop on her own. My little girl is growing up so fast!!
Callum and Livia participated in DNA to the Max, where they learned about DNA structures and got to play around with Barley DNA. Did you know that bananas have 30% same DNA as us?? Lots of weird banana jokes came from this wonderful fact lol!
We did take along our maths work to do while waiting for workshops but Callum was the only one who completed it (very proud of his attitude to his work this morning, hope it lasts lol) while Livia read and Aliya drew. Silas played with some new kids he had met. But that's ok.
Its been a long and tiring day, I've just managed to finish baking white chocolate and banana cakes, one for a pool play tomorrow and one for Danion's 1st birthday!
I can't believe that a year ago I was going into labour with my amazing little guy! Seems so long ago now, time has flown on by this past year!
