Swimming at the Quarry :)

So its been ages and ages since my last post. Life has been busy as per usual, and I've missed being able to read my blog, reflect on and enjoy the business :)

So jumping back into it with an extra ordinary splash, with some pics from the local  quarry we have just discovered!

We had been traveling to a quarry about 30mins away and are so excited to find out that there is an old quarry just a few suburbs away!

The water was cool and refreshing, and while swimming in quarries is not everyone's cup of tea, I like to take my older kids down for a swim and to jump off the cliffs into the water. The big boys are generally the daring ones and will jump while the girls, Silas and I like to swim and relax. We even go fishing here and catch Australian Bass, 5 are now our pets in the fish tank!

Its gone for good :)

After 8 years, we have disconnected our Foxtel Subscription!!!

I was finding that we constantly had the TV turned onto the cartoon channels, and that the kids would come and go throughout the day, watching unlimited hours of mindless repeats over and over again.

While there was shows that we enjoyed, we found that everyone preferred the company of the TV rather then each other. So now the TV is off during the day, I play music instead to have some background noise, and there is no longer as many fights over the shows they want to watch.

The Foxtel people tried everything from free months to IQ upgrades to keep us with them, but after 12mths of taking them up on their deals I finally put my foot down and said no more just come and collect it :)

Plus it would have ended up costing us $80 per month (after the deals had finished) so win win all around.

And even after all the protests from the kids about getting it disconnected............they don't even miss it :)

This is a photo of myself and my 2 brothers, Jason aka JJ is on the left and Trevor aka Trev is on the right :) A totally horrible shot of myself as we were trying to take the photo across from the house and the sun was reflecting off the white tin and shining into my eyes! They would not stop watering!!! Shocking!!

I can't wait til my sister in law sees this photo and laughs her arse off about how skinny Trevor is!!

By the way its Trev's birthday today!! Happy birthday little bro!!
