7 Quick Takes Friday

— 1 —
And here we are again! I missed last Friday so I should have lots of fun stuff to share, right?!?

— 2 —
My wonderful brother Trevor and sister in law Taren (*Waves) came to visit with their 3 awesome kidlets :) The days went way to fast as usual but we managed to cram in lots of shopping, cooking, eating, playing and of course running around after the kidlets :) Miss them way too much and can't wait for our trip to Gladstone in September for more cuddles :)
We were so busy we forgot to get the camera's out but at the last min I managed to catch a photo of Silas and Zaylen :)

Ummmmm not sure what Zay's jacket is doing lol!!

Both Braith and Kaydence are sleeping alot better, I'm getting a couple of good 3 hr blocks of sleep each nite now, life is looking rosie again! I bought them both Amber Teething Necklaces, not sure if they work but they look cute :)

Here Kaydence is posing and showing off those pearly whites that are giving her (and Mumma) restless and sleepless nights. We are 'lucky' enough to be cross cutting her stomach and eye teeth atm, oh the fun and the joy :)

The home schooling jounery is still an exciting adventure, where I am starting to gather quiet a collection of resources, I have my eye on a white board to add to the collection this week :)

My brother Trevor, Sister in Law Taren (waves hello) and their 3 kids are coming for a quick visit this week! I can't wait to see everyone again, its been a long time between visits and is extra special as we will be catching up with each others new babies, Zaylen and Braith!

Sipping my cup of tea, wearing my dressing gown that I got for mothers day, in preparation for some mumma time reading blogs :) (This might have to be my standard #6) and here I am yet again :) and yep here I am again

Its gone for good :)

After 8 years, we have disconnected our Foxtel Subscription!!!

I was finding that we constantly had the TV turned onto the cartoon channels, and that the kids would come and go throughout the day, watching unlimited hours of mindless repeats over and over again.

While there was shows that we enjoyed, we found that everyone preferred the company of the TV rather then each other. So now the TV is off during the day, I play music instead to have some background noise, and there is no longer as many fights over the shows they want to watch.

The Foxtel people tried everything from free months to IQ upgrades to keep us with them, but after 12mths of taking them up on their deals I finally put my foot down and said no more just come and collect it :)

Plus it would have ended up costing us $80 per month (after the deals had finished) so win win all around.

And even after all the protests from the kids about getting it disconnected............they don't even miss it :)

Braith :)

Braith falling asleep after jumping himself silly in his new Jumparoo :) This was his 1st time ever using it :)

Home Schooling Resources

Here is the start of my resource collection :) Surprisingly I scored all of this from Aldi, and the prices were good too :) I know that we don't really 'need' this stuff to successfully homeschool, but it will be a lot of fun to have :)

The kids were mega excited and wanted to start with our homeschooling adventure that very day!!

The little kids happily posed for a photo and then dived straight into playing, and Aliya was helping Silas 'learn' without even prompting!

It was good to stand back and see the little ones interact, I think my excitement about home schooling is starting to really rub off on the kids, as they are all starting to ask to be home schooled this year!

Slim Down Sunday

So I am in the process of loosing weight. You know all that baby fat I've collected over the years. Up and down, using pregnancy as my excuse to keep a little pudding around the middle. Excuses like, why bother getting fit if I'm just going to get pregnant and chunky again.

But I'm finding that I am a much more energised Mumma when I weigh closer to my healthy weight range. So to keep me on track I'm linking up with a bunch of other bloggers who wanna get fit too! I found this link up over at The Fruit of her Hands

Being accountable and being 'present' with my weight loss really helps me, especially when the days rush on by!! And with it being a new month, I'm starting fresh :)

Here are my stats :)

BMI 27.2

Height - 163cms
Weight - 72.4kgs
Waist 110cm
Bust 94cm (totally all back fat not rack lol)
Left Thigh 56cm
Right Thigh 58cm
Left Calf 37cm
Right Calf 37cm
Left Arm 31cm
Right Arm 29m

Goals?? To enter the healthy BMI weight range 23.7 which is about 63kgs, I can wear a size 12/10 comfortably, energy levels are high and I'm generally a Happy Mumma.

How?? To stay on track with my eating plan, provided by my ultra health and fitness friend, who we shall call Fitness Barbie :)

And to exercise everyday this month, allowing for 1 day of rest :) I guess as I get further into my challenge, I'll be able to get real with what is working and how I'll be achieving my goals and what is really preventing me from achieving them :)
